FSX crashes after a few menu clicks

Recommended Posts

Do you have the proper uiautomationcore.dll in your Main FSX folder?  There are 2 different versions, one of

which should fix your problem.

You may want to check your Event Viewer when FSX crashes just in case there is another Error code and Faulting Module.

Its beginning to ###### me off by the fact that FSX likes to crash after opening a menu 10 times into the game or so. Never happened to me before.

Same thing happened to me in last few days. New problem to me also. Perskeles!

Care to share your fix with others?

Yes of course. Sorry I did not already ;)

Seems to be so that in my case the problem (maybe) was combination of my relatively new antivirus program and first Ezdok and in last days use of FSFX Chase Plane camera addon.

Not 100% sure yet but i like to think that when i made antivirus system little bit lighter crashing is now over. At least I hope so...

You should exempt any anti-virus or anti-malware program from scanning your FSX folders, including your add-ons.  Make sure there is no file shown in the Quarantine section.

For the OP - the AVSIM CTD Guide, page 10, How to Fix most CTD's and Freezes, should be checked out.  See link in my signature.

If you believe you have the correct version of the uiautomationcore.dll placed in your main FSX folder, try moving it to a temporary directory and see if this fixes your problems.  I have never placed this Microsoft.net module in my FSX folder and never had any problems.  It only fixes one problem - right clicking and selecting a menu item at least 19 times.  For anything else, it is a placebo.  The AVSIM CTD Guide provides guidance for the uiautomationcore.dll.

If you continue to receive crashes, you need to post a report from your Event Viewer and/or AppCrashView (see page 5 of the AVSIM CTD Guide).

Best regards,

Jim

Wow. Sorry for the late reply. If I look at the event viewer what should I show to you guys?

There's information with an image of what it looks like on page 8, AVSIM CTD Guide (see link in my signature).

Best regards,

Jim
