December 19, 20169 yr Overhead Brussels, Belgium with some recognizable landmarks: - EBBR - R0 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brussels_Ring) - NATO headquarter in front engine n° 2. The new HQ is being build with the old HQ on the other site of the road leading to Brussels Airport. - The Cinquentenaire (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinquantenaire) - Avenue de Tervueren (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avenue_de_Tervueren) - Sonian Forest (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonian_Forest) - ... Scenery created with Ortho4XP and consists of satellite images and OSM data. X-Plane, no VAS issues and still stable 29fps with all this beautiful and high-res stuff passing beneath me at 300kts. :-) Regards, Vital Vanbeginne
December 19, 20169 yr Gorgeous aerial views....so neat and real. They make Orbx PR3D look like a messy game with all those roads through buildings. Just a doubt about FPS, range form 20 to 25 is a bit slow and with a more demanding aircraft and in cockpit they can pose some trouble. But we're still in beta, what are your CPU and Video? Beside that, what LOD for ground texture? Riccardo Viecca
December 20, 20169 yr Author a doubt about FPS, range form 20 to 25 is a bit slow and with a more demanding aircraft and in cockpit they can pose some troubleIn fact, X-Plane runs smoothly even if I see 19-21 fps on the counters. This IXEG classic 737 can be seen as a high demanding aircraft. No such thing as low res cockpit textures or model, it's all in high quality. what LOD for ground texture?Zoom level of the satelite imagery is 17. Zoom level 19 (which is the highest you can get) for 1km areas around airports. This one single tile (+50+004) consumes 64GB of HDD what CPU and videocard?videocard: EVGA Geforce Gtx670 2gb cpu: INTEL Core I7 3770k 22nm 4 Cores 8 Threads 3.5 ~ 3.9ghz LEIB EBBR area Regards, Vital Vanbeginne
December 21, 20169 yr Thanx, yes I do most of my tiles that way (LOD 16 or 17 and airports at 19 or 18 for small strip). For OSM data you mean W2XP or the default autogen Xp11 data which is always built on OSM I guess? Riccardo Viecca
December 21, 20169 yr Author Default XP11, I might experiment later on with alternatives like W2XP. Regards, Vital Vanbeginne
