Your Instruments on second computer

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Does anybody know if the GNS750 or the GNS530 can or will be able to run on a second computer link to x-plane ?

This would make these instruments absolutely perfect for us cockpit builders.

Ian

I really hope so as well! I really need something that will at least save the window position per aircraft or even better run standalone on a networked PC.

Our products usually render (depending on the simulator) in either a popup window, the 2D panel and the 3D panel. (VC in FlightSim).

In X-Plane, the popup window position is saved whenever you move/resize it, however, not in FS (the gauge SDK is entirely different and FS controls the window by itself).

We have great hopes XP11 and the detachable windows will help you get this popup on a second monitor.

As for a networked solution, we can't disclose anything for now.

I have an Emuteq 530 controlling the rxp530. I moved the entire X Plane window, including the rxp530, to the Emuteq 530. Enlarged the rxp530 to the point where it covers the entire monitor. Map the Emuteq buttons and rotaries in X-Plane. Runs on it's own dedicated instrument panel computer that is networked to the main computer. There's a small menu bar on top of the monitor but I can live with that.

When X-Plane 11 is released we should be able to just move the gps into the Emuteq.

I hope the developers make the floating window feature in the SDK though.

Big things like an XPLM revision to pop out windows [...] will have to wait for 11.10.
