Turn up gamma in XP11 without HDR possible?

Recommended Posts

Given the issues we are having with XP11 and HDR + FlyinsideXP.. i'm wondering if there is some way, maybe via dataref or lua script to increase the gamma in XP11.. (to brighten the cockpit at least)..

I saw that in XP10 it was a standard setting..

Does anyone know offhand?

Thanks in advance

edit: i saw these cockpit ones referenced for version 10.. it would be nice to have a setting that did both cockpit and outside, and i'm not even sure if they work in 11

I read they removed the gamma setting to standardize scenery development and  problems on the Mac side, Don't ask for a direct link , can't remember.

Using MAXXFX not ideal but will help

I see that, not seeing a demo though, its a $20 shot in the wind unfortunately.

No demo - go to YT should be something to show you what it does

I use Reshade instead, it's free but not as easy to configure as MaxxFx. But you don't really need to mess with many setting to get an improvement. I only use curves to add contrast and Lumasharpen to get rid of the FXAA softness.

Here's two comparisons with X-Plane 11 (also works fine in 10):

Unfortunately installing this seems to break flyinside.. so unless there is a workaround it wont help matters in my situation with VR

Good to know, thanks! Will point that out when recommending Reshade, unless LR fixes this (intentionally or unintentionally) with a further release.
