TFDi 717 Releasing on Dec 22nd at 6:00pm Eastern (2300z)

Featured Replies

Yeah! I am looking forward to the release of this so so badly. :-)

I love DC-9s, MD80s, and I have all of the available add ons! But unfortunately, with the exception of the Sky Simulations DC-9, none of them made it to P3D. Same is true for the MD-11, which has these late McDonnell Douglas avionics and systems I really like and enjoy. And in some way, all these beautiful things now come together in this release! ;-)

Looks like a great aircraft to fly.

As I only fly in Europe, does anybody know if there were/are any European based operators that used the 717?

Blue1 used to fly them on behalf of SAS between Scandinavian countries and Finland, but they sold their entire fleet back in 2015...

Ryzen 7 9800X3D || MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC 32GB || G.Skill TridentZ 32GB@6000CL32 || Asus ROG Strix B650E
Kingston Fury 4TB M.2 NVMe || Phanteks Glacier One 360 T30 v2 || Phanteks NV5 || BeQuiet Straight Power 1200W
LG C4 42'' 4k@144hz || Oculus Quest 3 || Turtle Beach Velocity One

Where can you purchase this plane?

I know it will be midnight here in Denmark when it's released, but does TFDi have their own webshop or will it be 3rd party?

Apologies, if this has been mentioned elsewhere...

Best regards,

Other than the major operator Delta still using the 717s.  Hawaiian uses it for island hopping.  Should make for some fantastic short hops.

If you want, I could make a tutorial of special approaches at Hawaiian :)

Well, after doing them hundreds of times, not THAT special... but "scenic and interesting"

"Channel 8L" HNL

"LDA 26L with taxi time reducer 26R changeover" HNL

"Harbor visual 8" HTO

"wind farm visual 2" OGG

they don't do this anymore: visual 3 LIH

Also, "block time challenge" LIH-HNL.

When you're flying 8 legs a day.....

Oh dear God! They do.

Thanks for that! Joke's on me...

I foresee one small problem.  I have updated P3D to v3.4 HF2 and REX/Milviz has not updated their dll. to this version.  From looking at their forum, it appears support will be limited due to holiday schedules.  Even though P3D runs fine without this update, I suspect the WX radar in the 717 will not function for anyone with the same setup as mine (HF2 using REX/Milviz radar).  Anyways will look forward to REX/Milviz update as soon as possible.  :smile:

I expect this is accurate. I've held back on applying P3D 3.4.18 for this reason.

So my WX is still working and no reason not to go ahead with a 717 purchase as soon as it comes out! :P

I'd certainly be interested.  Love the HNL channel visual in the sim but never had any "real" insight into it.

Good idea ;-)

I hope their servers won't go up in smoke! Want to insta buy it as well!

Okay spoke to the Lead Dev, he says MilViz is aware of the potential conflic and will be pushing an update to mitigate that issue asap.

The TERR Radar should still work regardless. If the update doesn't make release it will more than likely follow within 24 hours following.

Thank you very much for  contacting MilViz.  As long as the TFDi gauge still functions without weather I am perfectly fine with that for now.   :drinks:
