THOPAT 1.0 | Preset for PTA2 | As real as it gets

Got the texture to work properly and be dark, but I really want to know how you managed to improve PMDG landing lights :)

I found this post got so super excited and finally read about not supporting pmdg :(.. Wont be downloading until that's fixed. Please update..

Yesterday I finished adjusting the latest Thopat preset and I now have it like I want it..

I use EnvTex skies and ASCA clouds.

I'm pretty sure thopat stated that they were waiting for the next version of PTA that supported the new P3D update

Hi guys,

 

Here my 2 presets.

I use 3 HD tv's : 1 Philips 42"and 2 Samsung 32". 

These presets make my setup look great. Each setup is different...

 

 

The Daytime one is 80% Thopat 1.4 , so all credits to them. I merely modified clouds and terrain and use slightly different brightness/bloom saturation settings. I use this preset for dawn/day/dusk.

The Nighttime version is a different one one I made myself. As you see I use diffent brightness/bloom/saturation setings.

THOPAT creates realistic night textures (very dark). QOTS II uses specially coded lights which are meant to reflect off runways, but now that everything is darker......you will not see them on runways, they will reflect brightly off runway markers but not the actual dark textures of the runway. Similar effect is if you walk into a pitch black room with a flashlight, if you turn it on you will see that it is shining but it will not reflect off anything. Only solution I have found to this is to turn up Autogen Brightness or Terrain brightness but it will make things really awkward. With autogen, it will seem like all buildings have built in "sun" and will be literally shining. With bright terrain textures you will look the effect of the dark night.

I'm using your blended THOPAT settings with good results... but how do I set the lights to be "bloomy" like yours- or is that a function of the scenery you have loaded (third party?)

When I use the THOPAT preset I usually turn the NIGHT_EXPOSURE up to .13000000 which helps, HDR brightness on 1.10

For night flying I use the Night Environment nightlighting.

Updated our preset for the newest PTA v2.10 and remastered all lighting settings, we also added some tweaks to prevent blurry textures.

 

If you don't want to add any tweaks to your preapd3d.cfg file just uncheck "Tweak main config".

 

Please pay attention to the preset comments section!!! (HDR & Graphic settings)
