Issues with GTN on XP11

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Great product here!

I got to install it into XP10 and moved the whole RXP folder from XP10 plugins to XP11 plugins.

I also followed the instructions on installing the trainer from RXP, then removing it so I could install the Garmin trainer from F1.

I followed the instructions and renamed the folders, etc. Then removed the GTN trainer and install the GTN trainer lite that comes with F1 GTN for P3D.

Now for some reason the GTN is always off I can't seem to turn it on.

I wonder if I am missing something.
Do I need to keep the GTN trainer from you guys installed?
The thing is that it doesn't allow me to keep both (the one from Flight1 and the one from your GTN).

Thanks much in advance.

Teo

Hi Teo,

you might want to review this thread for a starter:

http://www.avsim.com/topic/496497-installationwin7blankdisplay-solved/

and also review the manual (near the end).

In addition to making your copy of the Trainer in another folder, you also must tell the RXP GTN Touch for X-Plane where to find the trainer. The procedure consists in setting up a couple environment variables.

Hi Jean Luc,

I did the procedure, however the F1 trainer is the lite version and for some reason it doesn't work.
This is the procedure I followed.

1. Installed the RXP Trainer.

2. Renamed folders

3. Created the variables in Win10.

4. Uninstalled the RXP trainer.

5. Installed F1 Trainer lite.

After that the RXP GTN doesn't work in X-Plane (dark screen). I am thinking because the Trainer version is the light version instead of the full version that you guys have.

Any suggestion on what might be wrong?
I can't install both trainers, Windows says there is already a Trainer installed.

Teo

Can you post the content of your rxpGtnSim.dll.log and rxpGTN.xpl.log files in "my documents" folders?

Also, when you have uninstalled the trainer, can you confirm Windows didn't detect the folder was just renamed and it uninstalled it regardless? If so, it might be better to copy the folder instead.

Last but not least, it seemed to me the other GTN was now compatible with the same trainer, is it not?

I saw that the renamed folder stayed at the location.

What I am seeing is that the F1 GTN uses another Trainer version and it's the Lite one.. don't know if that makes any different. I went over to F1 forums to see if there is something on the Trainer version if it can be changed, didn't find anythings..

don't know how to fix this issue..  :fool:

Please note you purchase either or both the RXP GTN 750 Touch and the RXP GTN 650 Touch, and in all cases, both menus appear, but only the gauges for which you've purchased a license will be functional.

Can you confirm you have indeed purchased and installed the RXP GTN 650 Touch with your purchase key, and not just the RXP GTN 750 Touch?

I didn't purchase de GTN 650.

hence the problem, it looks like you are trying to open GTN unit#2 as a GTN 650, which will fail to open since it is not purchased. Can you confirm the GNT 750 works fine though?

Hi Jean Luc the problem is that it doesn't work, neither of them.. I don't want to use the GTN 650 only the GTN 750 and I am using a mod that was done to the default XP11 cessna 172SP.

Regards,

Teo

Alright Teo, can you please at least try in another aircraft, and just open two GTN units (popup windows) and see it works?

Will test tonight and let you know.

Thanks a lot for your help so far. I know it's hard to diagnose without actually seeing it.

Will report back soon..
