20.100 Preset for PTA2 (0.21 WIP)

Recommended Posts

Thank to this great community and this thread, I discovered PTA. I was in love with the Ultimate Real Pack preset from Simhead but couldn't wait anymore for a preset for PTA v2. Just joking ;-)

My intention, as a non specialist of design and graphics, was first to discover and experiment by myself all these tunings. It cost several P3D restarts and I want to share my "work" in progress. No awesome web site, just a link to share the .ini file (version 0.21) : http://bit.ly/2hoZzRt

With this work-in-progress preset, I mostly want to strengthen contrast and increase the cloud shadow effect. With the great help of picture examples embedded in PTA v2 help, I also move some cursors to match my taste. My PERSONAL taste which is not your. Each has his own environnement (display screen, ambiant light...) and flight simulator usage : I fly only VFR (so out of clouds which also means below or above clouds), low and slow with general aviation aircraft and during day time only.

Please note that HDR are on and my work-in-progress HDR settings are in the PTA preset comment section.

With this .ini file, which is really a work-in-progress, I just want unpretentiously to encourage everyone to share their preset!

Enjoy !

I forgot to mention that I added 4 lines in the Prepar3D.cfg ([Display]) to correct the lights size of runway lights (and VASI/PAPI) large and suddenly become smaller when approaching the airport. If you don't want to apply this modification, un-check "Tweak Main config (prepar3D.cfg)".

[DISPLAY]
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=0.75
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=0.5
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=0.65
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=0.7

Did you try the fourth lines to add in Prepard3D ? It may work for you. Maybe this thread may help you as well : http://www.avsim.com/topic/466134-over-dimensioned-runwaypapi-lights-fix/

This is fabulous, thank you for this!   What I liked about URP is that it enhanced the appearance without making everything look overdone like a lot of the popular presets do.   Yours is very much in the same vein to my eye:  things look good, but don't like super-saturated extra-punchy hyper-contrast technicolor-everything cartoons.  :)

I just spent a nice evening flying around in Scotland enjoying some of the new UK2000 airports I picked up, and this is definitely some of the prettiest P3D has ever looked to me.

Hi all,

Thanks to all who share their feedbacks on my amateur attempt to define my own profil ! Here is the version 0.7 released yesterday : http://bit.ly/2mE8U5S

By the way, I don't expect to (friendly) "compete" with professional and high quality profil like Thopat or URP. It's just a personnal hobby to explore features delivered by PTA !

Yep, I would love to... But it seems I don't have enough right on this forum to do so. Except if I've miss anything ?
