DC-6

Recommended Posts

Are there any plans to bring the DC-6 to FSX in the next year or two ?

I won't speak to a timeline, but it is planned that the DC-6 will move into FSX, yes.

I absolutely LOVE the DC-6. I just cannot get into X-plane at all. There are a FEW things I like better than FSX and a whole lot of stuff I don't. The GPS does great VNAV decents on the approaches and I do like the the runway textures. I don't like that I have to spend hours downloading scenery for any given part of the world I am in and I have yet to really embrace the different camera options. Lastly, and maybe I just don't understand how, but I can't do flightplans within the sim. To top it off, I just have tons of scenery for FSX that I really don't have the ability to replace in xplane. With that being said, I cannot wait for the DC-6 to make it to FSX.

Absolutely agree you with you, I'm also hoping they will release the DC6 for FSX, I think 90% of us have spent a fortune on FSX, I cannot for the life of me understand why PMDG released the DC6 for XP?.

I know the A/C isn't going to appeal to everyone, but I'm drooling to get my hands on it, of course I'm bias because I worked and flew on them for years!!.

As stated from them when announced, they were going to have the DC-6 be the launch airplane into x-plane coding. They were then going to use it to test how easy (or hard) it is to transfer that work onto the fsx/p3d platform. The DC-6 is one big test bed. The question is when it will happen. They don't seem to be known for their speediness so I'm guessing it will happen but not for a while.

What do you mean? Should PMDG just ignore XP entirely?

Kyle: question re the DC6 when it comes to fsx/p3d if you're at liberty to answer...re the GPS:

Apparently the DC6 comes with a Garmin 400. Will it be possible to insert a version from Reality xp 430, Flight 1...430 or 650?

Thank you.

Dave
