Aircraft drift in external view

Recommended Posts

Will chaseplane have aircraft drift in external view (where the plane or camera position moves about slightly as tho you were really flying alongside the aircraft in a "chaseplane".

I know EZDOK1 does it as well as DCS. The camera itself can move rather than the aircraft to simulate the effect.

Specs: Win10, 4790K, nVidia 1080ti, Saitek Yoke+Quadrant+Radio/Switch and AP panels, VRInsight 737 overhead, Virtual Avionics 737 MCP. 3 x 1440*900 main display + 1024*600 VDU display. NLR V3 Motion seat. Oculus DK2 CV1 HTC Vive VR headsets.

Fairly certain EZDok v1 does not do that...

We have a similar feature on our list of things to do!

Thanks Keven,

Here is a quick screen grab of EZDOK's external cam drift like effect.  The effect is applied by EZDOK1 with no aircraft or camera manipulation at the time of recording.

The user adjustable effect seems to be applied to the camera x/y/z position and roll axis. Even a gentle slow "figure 8" movement on x y and z is all that is required to give the effect that the plane is not "glued" to the camera.

If Chaseplane includes something like this (above), it will be a sure sale in my case.

Something like this (below) would also make chaseplane irresistible (EZDOK  v2 has not implemented this)..
