P3D Shadow problem?

Are you using PTA?. Which version?. Have you checked in the "Clouds Shadows Depth" option?.

the shadows seem to appear/disappear as I look?

 

Pretty sure this has to do with the shadow distance vs. your LOD settings. Try setting the draw distance to max, test and if you don't see it appear/disappear, try lowering the distance until it becomes more bearable.

 

I'm not on my home PC at the moment so I can't give specific settings :-)

Was there a solution? Using TrackIR I see the same. moving my head moves also the angle of wich shadows are thrown. I see that when flying in the mountain and one hill throws a shadow on another.This shadow starts to move while I move my head.

Yeah One of my worst gripe which why I never turn on shadows, the issue appear w/wo track ir, as I don't have it, when panning around, shadows skewed and stretching related to my eyepoint position and is a really breaking immersion, so no shadows for me until anyone can find a fix or workaround
