More proof of the flow of emerging talent out there.  This is one of the primary reasons I chose XP.  Thanks for the heads up Ryan.

Ryan, you might want to try the mod which includes dual RXP GTN 750 Touch + GTN 650 Touch. Here is the link to the thread about this:

Thanks for the heads-up! I had forgotten about this one, and I'm always interested in helos with autopilot for use in FSEconomy (helps with those longer flights).

It's very light on the skids at engine idle right now, but that's probably due to propeller thrust modeling still being a little buggy and overpowered. It should settle down (for all helicopters) once Austin fixes that.

Yeah I tend to yaw left with idle power.

Does anyone know how to engage the autopilot?  I cannot understand the designer when he's talking in the you tube videos, as the engine sounds are too loud!

How did you get this to work?  I downloaded the Bell 429 from the link above.  I also downloaded the patch.  The confusing thing is the patch is a Bell412.acf.  I tried renaming it to 429 and putting it in the Bell 429 folder.  I also read somewhere that you needed to delete the geforce plugin.  I get an error and CTD when I try to load the 429 in XP11pb6.

Thanks.

Jim

Unzip and install the 429 files (do it again since you renamed the original .acf file). The only files you need in that Bell 412 patch download are the ones in this folder, not the Bell 412 .acf file:

/plugins/Bell412/64/

lin.xpl
mac.xpl
win.xpl

I know it's a little confusing, but what's happening here is we're installing a patch originally made for the X-Trident Bell 412 to temporarily work while XP11 is in beta. And because the 429 author was allowed to use the original 412 plugin in this helicopter, the same patch works. And it's all in those .xpl files, as far as I know.

I don't use the geforce plugin so I don't know if that's a conflict or not. It does work here without it, for what that's worth.
