The Carenado Meridian is out!

Recommended Posts

Been checking all day, and just saw that it's released and availble to buy ($37.95).

I will probably get it, but look forward to hearing from any 'early adopters' who get it before me.

Let me guess....

Everything that did not work in previous Carenado aircraft still does not work.

There will be someone along soon to ask how to get the GTN750 into the VC

Yes, that sounds about right.    I'm torn because the Meridian is my favourite real world GA aircraft.  But I know the CAR G1000 will be unsatisfying, and all those usual bugs (DTO, FLC not working properly) will still be there in this aircraft........

Perhaps I'll save my £$£$ and just reinstall the Flight 1 Meridian from 2000.   Was a heck of an addon in it's time.

Despite the bugs at least Carenado is still making new GA planes. I only know of 2 developers attempting to make realistic GA planes still - A2A and Carenado, with Carenado a very distant second.

That is true!  Heavy metal airplanes everywhere.  I've thought for a while that GA was in a black hole.

A2A are making great products but their pricing strategy is weird, at least IMHO. I always wonder why if everyone else including PMDG can make it straightforward, why can't or don't want they?

I am still devastated about RealAir

On another note, we all know what this is, its a beautiful plane with about "flyable" functionality. It will get you from A to B and you will probably need to step in along the way. But for folks who really want a Meridian, this is the best ticket in town and LOOKS like a Meridian.

Let me guess.... you want 64bit.

I think A2A prices the way it does as they are about the only plane developer who can cater to the flight schools. Hence they want to have a "commercial" price point to take advantage of what that market would be willing to pay. Personally I think it is to our benefit if it helps to pay for the continued development of new planes.

So back to the topic. Is anyone gonna test this thing? I'm hesitant because of and disappointed that the F1 GTN is not an option. But, gosh darn, am curious about the "new and improved" G1000!

Well. I decided to pull the trigger. I really loved the jetprop and pa46 from carenado while also enjoying the TBM for all its faults. I just started the download now so I will report back after I do a few short flights.
