747 transition

Recommended Posts

Hello.

Really looking forward to the 747, I cant stop looking at previews!

I am proficient with the NGX and the 777, so my question ( as I imagine others will want answering ) is how will the systems transition be? Obviously it isn't as automated as the 777, but is there a lot to learn? Or should it be fairly easy?

keep up the good work!

Will-

The 777 flight deck and systems design was based upon the foundation laid by the 757/767/744, so i think you will find that much of your system knowledge transfers.

Operation of the major systems will be nearly identical, but the fuel system on the 747 is far more complex as it is a multi-stage management process on longer flights.

She is a completely different flying experience and will require different planning techniques, but the experience with the 777 will set you up to succeed.

Thanks Robert. Yeh that's roughly how I imagined it would be. I love the 737 and 777, but now i want something a bit, bigger. Also I flew on the 747 of BA last year and made a lot of effort to see cargo charters at my local airports, so I have a lot of flights to re enact. Thank you so much for all your hard work
