Trying to find a mod

Recommended Posts

I am trying to find a mod for XP10 that I used to use, but can't for the life of me find it on the ORG! (mainly because I can't remember it's name).

It was a mod that you could use that prevented crashes/errors, if you used a scenery but had a library for that scenery missing.

Not sure how it done this (aliasing?) but it worked great.

Anyone any clues what this mod is called?

Thanks

There is always this:  http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/30252-x-plane-library-installer/

Or perhaps going through this link can help you find the library that's missing: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/90776-master-list-of-libraries/

What you're searching for is this one. But as it is already 2 years old, Jimm's suggestion probably will work better.

Bill, in case you hadn't noticed, XP11 has a much better recovery now, for missing libraries.  I frequently come across the same issue of loading up a flight to an airport I have, not realizing I missed one particular library, and of course, XP calls me on it with their message box, but chances are good now that either a) the scenery will still load (as is the case with EGGW and LSGG from TDG at the org) without issue or b) you will get the message and be transported to a far away magical land to fly.  I have yet to experience a crash or anything to boot me from XP11, which is always a good thing.

I have used the links provided (including Uwe's) which has helped me narrow down the issue.  I haven't tried the new automated installer though, as XP's ecosystem is so portable now, you can add to it as much as you want and never have to worry about losing anything, provided you backup the directory.

Thanks very much for the help Jim and Uwe!  I used the new library installer yesterday - brilliant!  Thanks for the info on XP11 Jim, interesting to note.

Cheers.

No worries Bill, welcome to XP!  The XP ecosystem is just plain brilliant.  Coming from FSX and P3D, it seems XP is lightyears ahead in terms of file management, sim configuration and general ease of use.  I actually fly more than anything else now and my own problem nowadays with XP is deciding where I want to fly.
