Flight1 or Project Magenta

Hello everybody,

 

I will use a G1000 for my home cockpit https://web.facebook.com/LeNezenLair1/ and I would like your advice between these 2 Soft :

- Project Magenta

- Flight 1

 

Which is the more realistics, have the best performances...

Project Magenta is cockpit suite software .

Flight1 is a Fs software company...

I would definitely go for Project Magenta.
I can't say anything about performance etc but P.M. is specialized in software for cockpit builders.
When they started 15-20 years ago, I bought their Boeing PFD/ND and FMC. Support was very good then (I guess/hope it still is)

 

Flight1 primarily is just a publisher, releasing software of other developers.
They simply can't have the experience that P.M. has build up over the years.

I own the Flight1tech G1000 with hardware and it is definitely better then the PM version. It has almost all features of a real Garmin 1000, regular updates and profiles for many GA aircrafts.

Does it have VNAV, ability to save flight plans, checklists, ability to use VOR radial/DME in flight plans, create waypoints?  I'm asking because their aircraft (Mustang and King Air) can't do any of that.  They're really good airplanes but could be great.

Yes, it does have VNAV, but no checklists. I have not checked VOR radial in flight plans...but I can assure you I have mastered every flight with PilotEdge so far.

Be aware though that it only can be used for GA airplanes listed on their website, and you cannot use it with planes from A2A since they use external programming for the gauges. For more information go to flight1tech.com. But I guess the same is true for all 3rd party panel software, that is why I am not using any more on a regular base.

 

If you aim for RW flight training, the G1000 from f1Tech is the right thing for you, if you are for entertainment only, I would doubt.

I'm not planning for RW training but I do like realism.  I'm not nitpicking their Mustang or King Air, either.  They're both really good and I love flying the Mustang.  Nobody has come close to their G1000 even with its limitations but a v2 with some of those capabilities would be stellar.

They do have a plugin for a Mustang I think, but as far as I know, it is for their commercial customers only, including some quite expensive hardware.

I think you may be mistaken, Flight1Tech develops hardware and software solutions for training.

It's an offshoot of Flight1 the publisher, but sells into the professional aviation market.
