Where are knobs located in the xml/panel code?

Recommended Posts

You won't find it. XML scripts for 3d objects such as that knob are embedded into the compiled model (.mdl) file and cannot be edited like a 2d XML gauge script.

When the model is exported from the modeling program (GMax or Max), it is combined with the definitions in the modeldef.xml file and two interim files are generated:

1. aircraftname.x

2. aircraftname.xml

When the compiler is run, those two files are combined to generate the model file: aircraftname.mdl

Once compiled, there is no practical way to "decompile", modify, then "recompile."
