Okay... perspective is one thing... however, I still question why is P3D version more expensive than an FSX one? What makes it more worth? Does every new simulator version rectify a higher price?

 

I don't think the price is high at all for the work that went into it and the standards that PMDG puts on themselves. I'm happy to pay for those standards. What other developer is setting their standards at a comparable level other than A2A?

Another thing is that when P3D goes to 64bit, the upgrade for those who purchased this version will cost nothing more, but they have to build that cost into this price, along with the cost of all of the support.

For one does not look like the 737 looking outside from vc AT ALL if you ask me. Which is demotivating.

As I understood it there are some new stuff found in the T7 for instance that would be nice to see in the NGX as well. I'm sure current owners of both would be able to provide more info.

 

However you're right, I don't experience any issues with the current version of the NGX.

Current NGX is 7 years olds and I'd like to see some stuff from T7 and 747 such as automatic winds' upload link for example

and of course plenty of minor stuff such as texturing and modelling of the cockpit.

 

In fact, PMDG are the masters of perfect, sharp and resource-easy textures. With all due respect to FSL and their Bus, they still have long-long road ahead to beat PMDG on the visuals' battlefield

Stunning, so smooth, everything was amazing, sounds everything.

 

Nose heavy just like IRL and you feel it.

 

Flying a boeing again after so many flights in the FSL 320 was strange, so strange.

I look at the price in a different way. I used to fly high end rc planes and owned a B-17 I paid 5 grand for and only flew it 5 or so times a year. Even small rc planes today can cost hundreds of dollars and when they crash that's it, no more plane.

 

A virtual model, to me these days, is a much better value. I can fly it anytime, rain, wind, snow, who cares I can still fly my virtual plane. Also I don't have to buy yearly insurance or worry about storage space for the larger rc models anymore. 

 

So you see, it is all in how you look at it. A beautiful, detailed virtual model such as the A2A Connie or the PMDG 747 are a bargain compared to some other hobby items us big kids buy, not to mention classic cars and other pricey toys. 

 

This is exactly correct; it's how you look at it. And it will differ from person to person.

 

My opinion is that I have a Boeing that I can load up, program the FMC and launch; then just wait. I'm not going to pay $135 every time a new flavor comes out that looks and flies a bit different; that's not worth it to me. Plus it's built for a platform that I will no longer support. I'm not buying $130 plugins for a 32bit program and then have to pick and choose what addons I can load because of the memory bottleneck. It's time to move forward; and there are other options.
