Time for 737NGX love?

Recommended Posts

Hi, does anyone know if, now that the 747 has been released, PMDG will dedicate some time to polishing the 737? There are a few bugs that have been ignored by the company, having all their resources dedicated to new projects understandably.

I don't know the list of bugs that there are, but I know one if them is the incorrect position of the speedbrake lever when in the down position, that makes it hard to click on certain CDU keys when using VR (the lever goes too far in and goes past its actual physical stop).
Maybe the company has plans to bring their most iconic product up to current standards. I think the NGX hasn't aged a bit. It feels like it was released yesterday, but it would be so nice if it got some love from the developers.

Would love to see a "v3" for the NGX.   Even if all the systems remained the same, and the changes were limited to:-

  • Revised VC model, reflecting more realistic 'letter box' windshield / visibility.
  • Refresh of VC texturing.
  • Rollback of new supporting features and optimizations from the 777 and 747, into the NGX

That would be amazing!

Better yet, build it for X-plane and never look back.

I'd also love to see a 737 MAX someday...

To add more to the wishlist:

-Split Scimitar winglets including adjusted performance

-737-900ER

-correct cockpit window size for non HGS frames

and all the good stuff that the 777/747 have...

It goes without saying that I'd be absolutely willing to pay a fair amount for such an extensive overhaul, not asking for any freebies

Wishful thinking.. Like you imagine PMDG are suddenly sitting around twiddling their thumbs!

1) Massive new product released = dedicated wait and see (support priority) time

2) A certain prop plane needs porting first :)

RSR touched on a new 737 version during a recent sim event.  No doubt it would include the MAX.  In the meantime, they will push microupdates to add some of the 747 improvements into the 777 and 737 software.

I would to see some improvements and enhancements for the NGX.  It is my favorite by far.  Always has been.

Just about everything above would be nice.  I do not want a MAX though.  I truly abhor those glass screens.  The Garmin 1000 look is just atrocious to me.

I would much prefer and think we'd benefit most from enhancements and other things.  For example, having watched those videos on YouTube from the real pilot.  He mentions some things the NGX does or doesn't do compared to the RW counterpart.  Like the FD going away on final after recycle unless you press TOGA.  Same with the GPWS alerts during G/A.  Not realistic even if they're minor issues.
