RTWR Team Practice – Saturday 4 Feb, 1500 UTC

Recommended Posts

This on-line practice session starts in Mexico near the Guatemalan border and will feature short legs (50 – 150nm) through the mountains of Central America. Choose aircraft that you plan to fly in the race.  It is a daylight session so fly the legs as fast as you can and land safely.  Let's tune up those racing skills.

Team members are encouraged to participate in this session. Any new race team members should make an effort to participate, as this session will provide an excellent opportunity to meet your fellow teammates and experience what the race is like. There will be experienced race members who can assist with any configuration changes required for the race, teamspeak, recommended race aircraft, and any other questions that you may have. The practice session will simulate the race environment including the following:

• Duenna validated legs with server tracking enabled

• Teamspeak communications

• Baton and Wingman with posts on the forum.

• Real time baton transfers and handoffs (if needed)

• On-line using JoinFS

The practice session will start at 15:00 UTC (10AM EST) and will continue till 17:00 UTC.  Remember to change the event in your Duenna to "AVSIM RTWR Practice "

By way of 'sorting things out' I undertook the perilous journey from Chehalis Centralia to Bowerman. It was tough, but I made it!

You'll have to take my word for it because apart from uploading the image/file to somewhere else, I can't see how to do it on AVSIM. Hurrumph

So I made a practice run tonight from your list, MGCB to MGPB.  I'm glad I was flying OUT of MGCB, because the airport is underground - I never would have found it!  (FSX:SE).  At my 11 o'clock, that tree beside that squat building... The tower is a little behind the tree..  Anyway, I made a grass takeoff, Duenna didn't complain, so all's well.  But it's a timely reminder how good an idea it is to load in at the airports you are going to fly in or out of to be sure you can actually access them!

Anyway, made a good run, I think my time is OK.  Still tweaking my climbing profile in the F7F-3S.
