Aft Cargo Heat temp question

But yeah, ~40-45F is a bit cold for pets, especially on a long haul flight. A more reasonable temp for pets is ~60-65F and if I recall right that was about the temp QOS v1 ran with Aft Cargo Heat on.

 

Maybe they could add that switch John was talking about at the Bulk Cargo Compartment that can make it warmer for pets. Maybe in the equipment options or ground services since they would be the one's to use it.

The Lower Lobe Cargo Air Flow Rate (LLCAFR) "Lucifer" switch is unique to the freighter variant.  The Pax birds have a 6-10 switch for the aft compartment that regulates at 6 or 10 Celsius or 40 or 50 Fahrenheit.  Additionally, turning on the act cargo heat activates electric floor heat in the aft lower lobe.  Yes 50 degrees might be a little chilly for pets but not fatal to them.

It was a passenger and Combi 744 option, too. Lufthansa used to have it on some of their pax aircraft.
