i found out that the the simconnect folder in winsxs is called x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61259.0_none_55f5ecdc14f60568

but the dll inside the folder has version 10.0.61637.0

i have already completly reinstalled fsx multiple times.

any thoughts.

FSX or FSX:SE? If FSX:SE, have you installed all of the legacy simconnects? Not sure if it will resolve your problem but it's worth doing anyway.

I have tried everything. and the only way i found to fix this was to do a non destructive reinstall of windows 7.
