Feature request: fuel pumps

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to get a feature where the changes in fuel pump configuration happen automatically? I'm currently doing a long haul and let it fly while I sleep. I know the fuel low Centre message is going to come eventually. Will it harm the aircraft if they stay on all night? I think in real life they would overheat..

Anyways congrats on this amazing bird! :)

The things you miss out on when you don't read the Intro Manual...

Nope.

...also in the Intro Manual.

hey guys, i was thinking that  a cool feature with the ground ops system is to also include the passengers and cargo in the short and long turns. (similar to the fueling system). i think it would be add to the realism of the turns instead of just putting in the zfw and the plane jumps as the new weight is set.

okay i just returned to my flight and it says fuel imbalance because the main 2 and 3 tanks are empty because of the crossfeed being open all night. so is the advise to just turn off the crossfeeds prior to leaving the flight deck for some sleep?

There's an option for this to be done automatically. Check the intro manual for details.

There is a option you can select for the auto management of fuel tank to engine config, and auto step climb. Just make sure you're correctly configured, then set them on. Then, your imaginary cruise relief pilot will manage step climbs and tank to engine settings.

Regarding the cwt pumps - don't worry about them in flight simulator land. They won't do any harm. With the updated fuel system, they should turn off but the boxes on the synoptic and pump switches will stay orange and the EICAS messages will stay until you switch the switches off.

In the real world, leaving them on is extremely dangerous. But in the real world, there is always someone watching.

Have a read of the intro doc. It is very useful

I do what you do, often. Usually, I walk away from the keyboard at top of climb and come back one hour from arrival time. I don't fly online. Make sure you upload winds otherwise your destination eta might be wrong.

Okay maybe it wasn't a good idea to read the manual at 1am :D I only found the part with it saying the pumps turn off automatically in the updated version. Thanks guys!
