Taxi Light Installed?

I am in the Polar Air Cargo DHL 744F and noticed that there is no taxi light switch.  I went to the FMC and aircraft options and there is a switch to enable it.  Did operators really not install (or remove) the taxi light?  That seems strange.

The Taxi Light is a customer option.  Many carriers opted not to have them fitted.  Its not odd at all.

Use the inboard and optionally the runway turn lights.

A few airlines, such as British Airways, didn't have taxi lights installed in their aircraft. (Google BA 747 taxi lights) I actually talked about it 2 years ago when the QOTSII was still in development.

Did a BA flight last night and was trying to figure out why I didn't see a taxi light.  The more you know...
