MSVCR120.DLL Crash

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I posted this on the LM forums, but in order to save retyping it I cut'n'paste it here as well to see if I can widen the net to obtain any expert advice on the problem:

Hi,

I open a new thread on this subject because my circumstances seem to be different to others attributed to crashing with this DLL.

My system specs:

Win 7 Pro 64 bit
GTX 970 Video - 376.33 drivers
16 Gb RAM
2 x Samsung SSD
P3D Academic 3.4 (no HF's)
Using ASN 2016 (6239)
ORBX scenery EXCEPT Vector

Fresh install of P3D, aircraft: PMDG 777/747, FSLabs A320, Real Air Duke

I am not attributing this to a specific aircraft, however it affects my PMDG 777/747 as they are the only long haul aircraft I fly. I load up a long haul flight (my recent case YSSY-FAOR in the PMDG 747). All goes well and the after 8-9 hours into the flight my system simply crashes, with no input from me (after extensive searching I know others had issues in the 777 with certain pop up displays). As the aircraft is happily flying along, I may leave it for a while and return to find it crashed.

I don't really know how to describe it other than a random crash, but is repeatable. I have tried the flight twice now and the result is the same.

I tried reinstalling the MS run times (fresh download from their site), but the result is the same.

I was hoping for some advice on any trouble shooting techniques to try and isolate the reason for this. As far as I can see, it only occurs after many hours long haul, I have never experienced it on shorter flights.

David

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I recently had a MSVCR120.dll problem though not the same type as yours.  I solved my problem by going to Control Panel/Programs/ Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86).  Double click on the program and select repair (or just run it... if you don't  have it installed, then get it and install it.  I have seven versions of this program.  Only after repairing this one did my .dll problem get solved.  Good luck

Thanks for the suggestion. I did reinstall the redistributable but have just tried the repair now. I managed 2 YSSY-FAOR flights but just had a crash YSSY-KDFW with about 2 hours to go. I've had no responses at LM forums - must be one of those "we have no idea" bugs. I suspect AS2016 may have something to do with it, although those developers claim it doesn't, but I don't know for sure. One of the "not me your honour" situations.
