I've seen this particularly with Windows 10 which has two known programs that will tie up your hard disk, resulting in the same in sim effect that an overloaded processor will give. On of these is the Windows 10 Update. Dave Hodges System Specs: I9-13900KF, NVIDIA 4070TI, Quest 3, Multiple Displays, Lots of TERRIFIC friends, 3 cats, and a wonderfully stubborn wife.

Cpu, GPU, and disk usage have not changed from when I didnt have this issue.
February 9, 20179 yr The simple fact that I have learned over time, is that you can push FSX only so far, until you start to notice scenery loading delays. It is a combination of complex aircraft, detailed scenery, traffic, weather, LOD radius, mystery tweaks etc. It all adds up. Think of it as overloading a camel.. no single item is the cause.. hence the saying "the straw that broke the camel's back". Many of us here have purchased new video cards, new CPUs (along with motherboards and memory), over time to try to extend the load carrying capacity of that camel  Bert

I just don't get how the autogen delay is happening for me when I didn't change a thing.... All I did was load into KCLT one day, and this issue started happening. No error messages, nothing else was different.
February 9, 20179 yr I am flying into the same scenery, but I might have bumped up my cloud setting to 80 miles. No other proceses are running (besides windows ones that use less than 0.3% cpu) Ok, I will test this, post results and a screenshot soon! Thanks, David Ok, I've finished the testing. Here is FSX with cloud radius down to 70: http://imgur.com/GyFpyiP Here is FSX with cloud radius at my usual 80: http://imgur.com/1uwy1gv NOTE: the random cpu drop was because I paused the sim for a few seconds. Core 1 is maxed out with both cloud settings, core 2 is about 30%, and 3&4 are barely used. As you can see, the autogen issue continues in both screenshots. You are flying a fast aircraft... that is a major factor.. Are you using an Affinity Mask in your fsx.cfg? Not clear to me in this picture which Core is Core0 /1 /2 /3.. Bert
February 9, 20179 yr I first noticed this issue when I was on my usual route from Schiphol to London Gatwick in the aerosoft a320 (I always use it on that route), same altitude, airspeed, same route, etc. I only went to frankfurt and flew low to test any changes I'm making to help fix this, as filing a flightplan, going through climb, cruise, and to that exact same spot, takes waaaay to long. It doesn't matter for me anyway; no matter where I go, how high I go, this still happens. Hmmmm...a bit strange if you're sure nothing has changed. You could try optimizing your drive. Defrag if on a HDD and trim if SSD. Make sure nothing has changed in the Windows environment, anti-virus, firewalls etc. Other than that I don't know what to tell you. We all have this problem to one extent or other. I'm afraid you'll have to live with it or reduce settings to take the load of your system.

I was flying the f/a18 very slowly, and I am trying to do an affinity mask tweak, but it is not working. Hmmmm...a bit strange if you're sure nothing has changed. You could try optimizing your drive. February 9, 20179 yr I am trying to do an affinity mask tweak, but it is not working. Could that be your problem? Add these lines to your fsx.cfg file: [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=14 That will move the 100% load from CPU core0 to core1, freeing up Core0 for background work. Other option: [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=15 That will use all cores, with the heavy load on Core0. Bert

Also, where would I find the Texture Bandwidth setting? I would like to change mine to 120, since my gpu has 4 gb VRAM.

I added affinity mask 14, and now fsx uses a good amount of my cpu, and the pop ins happen further out again! Not to mention, I GAINED 10 fps!!! thanks! After 13 hours of troubleshooting, this one tweak solved everything! EDIT: I restarted fsx and the pop ins are back, close to my aircraft. What is happening?!?
