Updating P3D - Quick Question

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

Quick question for all you experts out there.

Having a menu problem with GSX in P3D v3.3 and I was told to update both the Client and Content. I have downloaded both from my accoint. So once I uninstall both of these, is there an order to which the updated installers are to be installed? Client then Content or content then client?

Also, and if I read he forums correctly, both the client and content are standalone installers and would only need to other larger files if I was updating the scenery?

Can someone assist please as I've only ever update the client and the of course the full install from

V2 to V3 or when required

Thanks in advance people. Appreciate your help

Content also has a data file named Cont1.cab, which has to be in the same folder as the content installer.

Makes no difference, but I did client then content in that order.

Hello Dave

is there an order to which the updated installers are to be installed? Client then Content or content then client?

The Client needs to be Installed first then Content and Or Scenery,  The Client is the operating system of Prepar3D v3

Installing Content before the Client you will receive this reminder

Yes Client is a stand alone Installer,  Content comes in 2 parts,  Scenery comes in 7 parts.  It is Recommended to download the complete Prepar3D v3 file (Handiness sake i Guess)  but here are the  Files to Download for each of the Component Installers  Before you can run the .msi Installers

If you have add-ons that are placed on the menu inside P3D (like GSX, FSDT Addon Manager), you have to install Content as well.
