4K monitor help

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

So recently purchased a 4K monitor! Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how to set it up! When i go into P3D there is a huge drop in frame rate. Does anyone know how to fix this ?

So its set to 3840 X 2160 with a HDMI cable, in P3D i have selected the 3840 X 2160 resolution, the sim look fantastic, its just the FPS! Any suggestions ? Graphics card is a GTX1070 ROG Strix 8GB

Hi!

I'm interesting in this topic. I'd like to buy an Ultrawide 34" LG monitor. I have a GTX970.

On others topics I've read that 4K res shouldn't have a great impact on FPS, is this true ?

Thanks!

Regards, Max

I too noticed this with mine but found if i turn AA down to 2 it came back to reasonable levels. AA kills on larger screens unless you have multi-gpu's (so i've read). It definitely is sharp using a 4K though. Good Luck..

I've read also that with an ultrawide (3440x1440) or with a 4K monitor, the aa could be turned off.

In this way your FPS should be ok. Can you confirm this ?

Thanks again for your help!

Switch all AA off, really don't need it with 4K

I'm running a 49" LG 4K TV as my main screen, fed by a GTX1080 at 4096x2160 / 60Hz.

I've turned the AA right down:

FXAA=Off

MSAA=2 Samples

Anisotropic 2x

Tessellation enabled

Try this, and see how things perform.

It should be remembered that running a 4K monitor off one graphics card is essentially the same as running four 1920x1080 monitors off

the same card. GPU has a lot of work to do drawing 8.8 million pixels-per-frame.

When I got mine I turned NI off completely and only run with internal FXAA off, 4, 4 with internal frame limiter set to 30..  I also set 30Hz but it's not a huge deal if you run 60...might be a little improvement.  I have a 970 with 4 Gig and get really good framerates, in general.  Lots of AS16 clouds slows it up.
