Trying to update my computer.  I have no idea what I'm doing except what I've tried to find here at AVSIM.  So, what do you think?  Anything under/over kill?  Will this run 4K curved monitor or TV?

Will be fine.  64GB RAM?  What for?  I mean it's your money - but I'd say even 32GB is totally overkill for even 64bit XP11 if you happen to use that.  If all you do is P3D, 16GB at the max.

Thanks for your help!  I will heed your advice.  I want to install both FXSE and P3D, that's why I want two storage sets and figured I needed the 64.

P3D and FSX will only use 4 GB ram each... but including all apps you may run you could easily see 8GB used. I'd still go with 16 gb 2x8GB total

Looks solid, as Ryan says, 16gb RAM is more than enough, however try and swap what's there for 3200mhz+ stuff

I agree with Ryan re the RAM.

 

Re the CPU cooler, doesn't seem to be any reviews on the internet, so a bit of an unknown quantity for me. A 240 rad though so perhaps promising.

You appear to be confusing RAM with storage.  As others have noted, 16GB of RAM is plenty for FSX/P3D, and regardless of how much, 2666MHz is skunky slow.  See if there's an option for 16GB of either 3200 MHz@CAS 15 or 3600 MHz@CAS 16 RAM instead.
