New Procedures for all SOCAL airports (Metroplex Environmental)

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just a heads-up: not sure if any of you are aware of this, but there are some significant changes being implemented into SIDS, STARS, RNAV and other procedures commencing this March and April affecting all Southern California major airports (and also smaller municipal airports).

The link below provides all the info:

I expect that Navigraph will reflect these changes in due course.

As big as the changes are, the charts and the navdata will be updated, and not much will change apart from pilots who operate regularly in those areas will have to lose their muscle memory and get used to the new procedures.

Interesting project, they seem to go with more "european style" procedures.  Given how well they work over there in their (extremely) crowded airspace, the results could shape how it'll evolve over the rest of the country.
