Lago is like a dog on its back, waiting to die

After months of trying to get FS Enhancer to work, it seems that Lago has done a runner with my money. After repeated unreplied e-mails and forum posts, they leave me no alternative but to name and shame them. They have spoken once in 4 months to say that they are fixing the problem, but thats all I've ever had from them.So I post this message left on Lago's DEAD forums by another member...WARNING! I'm sorry to hear about your problem and I don't know anything about FS Enhancer, but "Business closed" is certainly not true.LAGO has just released a patch again for the Maddog and for my taste, the MD80 is among the best FS products. I received a mail from their product manager three days ago, maybe you try to contact him directly ? His Email adress is listed in this thread : http://forum.videogame.it/showthread.php?threadid=33691Mike

Let's see...Slander, libel, deliberate misrepresentation of facts with intent to do harm. You're in a world of trouble if anyone decides to take legal action against you over your statements.

I use FSE and have no problem at all with it. In order to download an object for FSE, you have to upload something first.

Re: FSE...I tried the demo, and it put me right into CTD city. No real help from Lago but a form-mail response. Based on that and many, many unaddressed complaints on a host of forums, I can't conclude anything except that FSE is a half a notch above completely dysfunctional abandonware.Re: Lago Twin Otter. First release came with the MSFS B-350 .air file copied and renamed. FDE a country mile from the real thing. Paint kit promised but never delivered. Developer (Igor Supranov) disappeared into the woodwork...no evidence of any further support or real hope for an update to fix things like transparent windows that look like square holes in the fuselage. Lago continues advertising it and taking peoples' money.Re: Lago Maddog. An Air Force general I once worked for used to say that you rarely find success when looking for diamonds up a goat's a**. I consider the patched Maddog to be a real diamond. As for Lago, well...Lago is a publisher, not a developer, with one of the worst customer service reputations in the business, IMHO. But on the bright side, the guys at Wilco are happy to have someone to keep them out of last place. It always makes me sad to see good developers like the Maddog team or the FeelThere team getting mixed up with publishers that end up soiling the reputations they worked so hard to earn.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

"Lago is like a dog on its back, waiting to die..." :-lol Guys the original poster has a valid point. Lago has been in a stark decline since we've had FS2k4 on the market. For those of us who were fortunate enough to purchase products from them before December 2004, we have no complaints as we

You are absolutely right: when M. Kok left Lago, the company went down the drain even quicker. Support is abysmal to non-existant. It's the developer NOT Lago who continues to produce fixes for the MD80.People have every right to complain. ricardo

>> To me that's not that far from a freeware option. At this point you could just get the cheep alternative and buy the MD80 panel from Eaglesoft and download the freeware JCA visual model (among other great freeware options out there). You would have the same thing you would have with the overpriced Lago option.Hi Dillon, once again, the LAGO Maddog with it's excellent Autopilot (that's the meat of an airliner simulation) has even been verified in detail by a real world MD80 captain. You still haven't read that ? :http://www.hilmerby.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=422You recommend an Eaglesoft alternative, that doesn't even have an IAS mode simulated (that's a major AP mode in the MD). And according to their forum the Eaglesoft uses the Microsoft default AP. How they simulate VNAV with the default AP is beyond me (it's also a pitch mode behind VNAV Climb/Descend).I understand your desire for a VC, but the Eaglesoft plane doesn't have one either. It's sad you seem to have no interest in authentic MD80 flying.I agree with Bob, the LAGO support left a lot to be desired and that's a pity for the development teams. But it is NO REASON not to enjoy this outstanding plane, which does next to everything correctly regarding systems, flight, autopilot and sound atmosphere. Mike

>Let's see...>Slander, libel, deliberate misrepresentation of facts with>intent to do harm.>>You're in a world of trouble if anyone decides to take legal>action against you over your statements.and here you come along, pretending to be a lawyer, with your own baseless accusations and claims. Didn't you claim that anyone who distributed other peoples files is in for criminal actions against them?Give it up man. The day somebody can't say this in a forum is the day we all throw our Constitutions away.

If we want to compare MD80's, why dont we toss the Flight1 in there? We all know it beats them all... ;)

Mike,How is the VC with Lago? Does it have a dome light linked to the landing or nav lights? How about backlit gauges at night? I want to buy it but don't see many shots of the VC at day and night.and how do I make the modifications that you gave on that link? Thanks

Alex, can't comment regarding the VC, since I can't fly with VCs due to slow gauge update rates (generally in all airliners). Also the VC is connected to the LAGO models and I'm using the JCA models. Gives me the ability to fly the entire MD series (MD81, MD82, MD83, MD87, MD88, MD90) with the panel, they all behave very well. If Dillon said the VC has lighting issues, then it might be so.Stellan Hilmerby has made this modifications and has been asked a few times to make them available. He hasn't yet, I'm not sure why. Maybe you could also ask in his forum. Mike

oops thats right I forgot Dillon told me about the VC lighting issues already. Nevermind then, Ill save my money until the flight1 birds bugs are fixed or someone comes out with a better version with up to date electronics.

>If we want to compare MD80's, why dont we toss the Flight1 in>there? We all know it beats them all... ;)No, not all :-). I'm an MD80 fan since ages and have discussed and checked both with a former Aero Lloyd Captain shortly before Christmas. He also liked the LAGO Maddog similar to Stellan in his review. Almost everywhere consistently correct Autopilot logic and smooth behaviour. Qualifies almost as procedure trainer. He found numerous issues regarding system authenticity, flight model and especially Autopilot behaviour in the Flight1 (with beta patch). These were VERY detailed checks though, not looking at VCs or lighting problems or eye-candy. Regarding that, there might be a different winner. However, I like them both. A modern MD with FMC in the LAGO, and the older Flight1 MD version with PMS/ONS is a nice combination :-) The Flight1 was just released and the LAGO needed nearly a year to get there. Maybe the Flight1 will also catch up over the next months, who knows.Mike

True, both planes are from to different generations. I really wish Flight1 would of done the more modern MD, but i guess a little of both is a good thing. The lago is just a lower quality plane imho. Cant beat a F1 plane. F1 runs up there with LDS, PMDG, ESDG. :)
