Hi,

How is the quality of Europe ?

Far in the past I used TileProxy with G...E Earth and while the US looked great , Europe had several sesons in each country ...

Even with other providers Europe remained with color differences.

Also I am curious if it is fast enough for jetflying.

Did you test it with a complex 737 addon with heavy real weather and addon autogen ?

Regards

Hello,

As World Terrain covers the whole World we will not make any claims regarding quality.

We offer a trial period so that users can make their own opinion.

World Terrain has a feature "Altitude limits zoom" That makes it possible to fly fast aircraft while generating only as much scenery as the simulator will display.

However for performance reasons World Terrain will not try to follow aircraft above 500 Kts.

As user configuration and network speeds vary we will not make any claims on performance.

Again, please try it and feel free to share your experiences.

Will all tiles be stored into a folder with a scenery subfolder ?

I have custom Autogen and that is working with photoscenery ..

So scenery + Texture .

Hello,

Interesting concept! It would be really interesting if you processed a route and pre-downloaded batches of ortho every X mins/hour to cover a pilots' route in high quality ortho, thus reducing the "slow down" warnings. Or - does anything downloaded stay on the drive - or is it automatically removed/overwritten on close?

Seeing quality like this is really interesting for P3D and certainly improves upon the blurred default terrain! Nice work, looking forward to seeing how this product evolves in the future!

Hi,

Do I have to Backup my FSX installation before installing World Terrain or any other file?

With kind regards,

Hello,

No need for back-up.

The installer will modify the scenery.cfg file only but will back-it up first and rename the back-up with the name such as :

scenery_before_World_Terrain_01_01_2017.cfg

The uninstaller will cleanly remove any entries to the file too.

Hi,

I have tried it out but encountered blurry terrain. I have the following Questions.

  1. What is the purpose of the knob: erase  file, Which file is erased?
  2. Options: altitude Limit Zoom, Can you please explain how this work?
  3. What is the status Improving do?
  4. What are the best settings in FSX in order to get the most out of this product?

Please advice.

With kind regards,

Wim

Hello,

Thank you for your interest.

  • Erase files : Simply erases the generated files
  • Altitude Limits Zoom : If you are flying at 30 000 feet you will not see details on the ground so the resolution used is limited

This allows to fly fast aircraft high without having to worry about the download speed.
Think of it as an autopilot for World Terrain

  • Improving : As the aircraft flies World Terrain uses an algorithm to predict where the aircraft will fly and generates terrain ahead.

Some of this information and settings for FSX is in the documentation that you may also find here:

Do not hesitate if you have further questions.

Will I see P3D water with its reflections or photo tile water ?

In other words : do I have real coastlines with animated P3D water ?

Thanks

Hello,

World Terrain generates a very accurate coast line that makes a smooth transition between Water with special effects and the terrain.
