Major Saitek Pro Flight Yoke and throttle quadrant Issue

Hi all,

 

Wondering if someone might be able to help because I am getting no response on the Saitek/Logitech website at the moment.

 

I have had a Saitek throttle quadrant for a few months now and it has worked perfectly well for me.

 

I thought I would up my game for twins and get the Pro Flight Yoke so I had the two quadrants and a new yoke to replace joystick.

When I installed the new yoke it recognised it in the driver installation software but then when I plugged in my old quadrant into the hub on the yoke it caused the old quadrant to cycle connect/disconnect with the green light going off and the windows USB Connect/Disconnect chimes sounding.

 

I tried playing with different USB ports to no avail so thought I would reinstall.  Now I can't even get the yoke to light up unless I leave it plugged in and reboot, in which case as their are no drivers installed the display clock shows zeros and it isn't functional.  If I start the driver installation process when, I get to the point where I have to plug in the yoke, it is not recognised and the 'next' button is greyed out.  Windows however tried install a generic USB hub but that never seems to complete.

 

So if I then try and reinstall my trusty old Yoke it won't be recognised either so that is now out of service.  I plug it in when prompted and the driver software won't recognise it and the thing keeps cycling disconnect/connect.

 

I have deleted drivers, deleted the registry entries, tried different USB ports, tried straight into PC and also into my powered USB hub.  Nothing at all seems to work anymore.  Does anyone have any ideas?  All my other non Saitek USB devices are working just fine!

I had a similar issue with my X52, not sure if this helps, but no harm in trying I suppose. I did this: Plug in your x-52 and find it in Device Manager. Right click / Update Driver / Browse my computer / Let me pick / Pick the driver for USB input device.  Im guessing that you will get a similar thing but detailing your Yoke rather than X 52.

Also, have you disabled the USB power for your devices?  That in itself saved me a lot of issues.

Thanks memorgan but for some reason that isnt working. Using the correct and latest Win10 drivers it tries to install and then stops saying there is an error in installation and something about part of it missing. Saitek finally responded with the same suggestion by the way. Many thanks for trying to help!

Do you have a power adapter for the yoke? Without enough juice for its internal USB hub I find the devices get unreliable. Also, from a driver perspective, I abandoned all Saitek drivers in favor of SPAD.neXt and gladly never went back ...

Bought a universal power adaptor but for some reason the yoke won't accept any of the plug attachments correctly.

 

I thought Spad was just for the panels....is there something for the yokes too?

Can't even get the device to be registered in Device Manager so not sure FSUIPC would do it

I would highly suggest you buy a USB powered hub and plug all of your flight sim hardware into it. As my hardware collection got bigger I had the same issues.

already have :(

​whenever I try and install from the device manager I get a message saying that the driver installation file may be missing a necessary entry and then something about how it may be because INF was written for windows 95 or later lol!!!!

 

So close to just sending this back to Amazon but want to give it a try and also now have a duff separate throttle quadrant that prior to trying to set up the yoke was perfectly serviceable.

...so I found some sst software on my PC.  Not sure from when.  WHen I tried to run it there was an error message so I uninstalled it (as I dont use it anyway) and when I then plugged yoke back in it miraculously came to life, green lit, clock working and automatically seems to have selected the right drivers!  I haven't flown with it yet but tested the keys in FSX control setup and its all there!

 

The weird thing is that my original quadrant that has given me good service is still doing the cycling connect/disconnect thing and if I try to install a driver for it I still get the error messages about missing parts of the driver or if I try to install from Saitek software it is not getting recognised.  It is plugged into a powered USB hub (have also tried into back of PC) so I know it isn't a power issue and it is doing it even if I unplug all others.  Was working fine until I first plugged in the yoke.  Is it a hardware fault maybe?
