Grand Canyon National Park Airport - 747v3

Recommended Posts

Interesting flight from San Francisco Int, KSFO to the Grand Canyon National Park airport KGCN in the PMDG 747v3. First you have to watch altitudes and barometer settings because this airport is on top of the high area at the Grand Canyon. I set my baro a bit too late maybe at 30.13 (according to AS16 info) and when close to the airport got down to 8000 feet and the call out was for 2500 feet. I did get the big bird down and stopped in time to pull into the pad area without running over any of the parked small aircraft but my PMDG service vehicles didn't miss a one.

The altitude callouts are based off the radar altimeter which means the actual distance between the aircraft and the ground, not the primary altimeter ;) Cool pics by the way.. you took up all the ramp space, lol!
