High Resolution 3D Cockpit (Why Is It Required)

I'm on page 20 in this forum so I apologize if I missed this somewhere.

Why is it required for the high resolution 3D cockpit to be on for the panel push buttons to light properly. If that option is not selected the MCP panel push buttons will not show the white engaged light. The same can be said for the overhead panel when looking at the APU and Ground Power push buttons. When the ground power is connected or when the APU is running and available the buttons will not light up.

If anyone has a way around this please let me know.
