I wad going to also post that I am not seeing this behaviour myself. And I did delete the shader... but that simply doesn't make any sense as a cause. Do you have engine mixtures mapped to HOTAS controls? I've caused myself that very issue with jet engines after leaving a high mixture setting on from a previous prop plane flight. Just trying to think of a more reasonable explanation.

I agree it makes absolutely no sense but when I think back the Lear was okay with v4.3. So it had to be something involved with the update. Clearing the shaders folder was more in hope than expectation.

All my engine controls are done with FSUIPC5. I double checked those and they’re fine. The Mixture level is not assigned to any action for the Lear.

Very odd but I’m very relieved it’s fixed.

Ray..... I should gave been clearer. The fact that it has a 'fake' auto throttle, is what I do NOT like about it.

Like the Dash 8 and the  BAe 146, the RW aircraft do not have auto throttles..... so one would expect an Xtreme version, to remain faithful to this truism.

I have too many automated aircraft, to the point where I wonder why I bother.

I was initially attracted to this, because I assumed it would be realistically modelled and it would be hands-on, and actually need flying. This fake AT ruins it.

As for Ross's comment: whilst I appreciate the ability to disable the AT, you then have to fly the aircraft using vertical speed, which in my book, is a no-no. I would never allow myself to even get into this mindset... running counter to the principles used to fly every other plane in my hangar.

Climbing out should never be made using VS. It is dangerous and simply not done.

VS is used for descending and small changes in altitude. To climb out using VS is just counter intuitive for me and I simply wouldn't feel comfortable.

I easily manage the Dash 8 with no AT or full VNAV.... it is what makes it a delightful change to the other stuff... XP dropped the ball on this one. For this reason, I'm out.

I found these entries in the Lear aircraft.cfg file -

autothrottle_available = 1  // Autothrottle now available in version 2.1
autothrottle_arming_required = 0
autothrottle_max_rpm = 95
autothrottle_takeoff_ga = 1

I imagine that you could comment them out and eliminate the auto throttle.  Probably a zero after "autothrottle_available ="  would do it.

Best regards,

Bill

Hi Gabe. Is there a text file for airlines in any of the folders? If so, that might contain the names of each airline.

Could be, after all you can record your own sound files  I seem to remember.

I'll take a shifty.

Thnx

Did you delete the contents of the Shaders folder after updating to 4.4? If so that's why you had no problems. That was what solved my issue.

Hi Ray,

I always do a complete reinstall of P3D.

Cheers, Ross

Should be but I always delete the P3D folders in Users\*\app data & Program Data to give a pretty clean sheet to start with. I don't delete my aircraft though. Have back ups for my exe & DLL.XML files as well.
