I don't think this is true...what I remember reading from JV is that the upgrades to P3Dv3 were the last of the freebies...ORBX intends to charge an upgrade fee for further updates beyond v3.

Bob, thats JV's statement in regards to charging for the next P3D version:

However, he doesn't explicitly state P3D v4 or a 64 bit version, so this might only apply for the next P3D hotfix ;)

The problem is that i am reluctant to invest in any new add ons if V4 is "just around the corner". I wonder if third party developers are, or are going to be, facing a short term drop in sales because of this as no one wants to be left with purchases that either don't work, require an upgrade fee or have to be purchased again when V4 becomes available..

That's likely the reason Orbx have made it publicly known that they will not be charging an upgrade fee to V4...makes it somewhat easier for us fence sitters in the interim...
