KLM 737-800 low oil quantity

Recommended Posts

Hello guys, I need your help...

On my 737-800 winglets KLM livery, I have a very low oil quantity on both engines (18-20%) no matter if I start it from cold and dark or with running engines.

I tried to fix it using the maintenance menu (MENU > PMDG SETUP > AIRCRAFT > FAILURES > ALL SYSTEMS > MAINTENANCE) but nothing has changed, both engine are still with 18-20% oil (even after resetting FSX and removing and installing KLM livery from PMDG operation center) .

I tried to google it and ran trough the manuals, but beside running the maintenance there is no other info how to resolve this issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Are you sure of the unit for the oil quantity? (you can check that in the equipment menu in the PMDG options of the CDU).

Whether it is 18-20% or 18-20 QRT it is not the same! :happy:

Starting from the saved panel state that you're not saving after servicing the oil, perhaps?

The oil and hydraulic levels are set by the values in the saved panel state, saved along with a flight. Much of my flight begin with a previously saved flight exactly so I have the consumption of oil and fuel remaining.  Since we don't have a ground maintenance routine in the NGX similar to 777 or Queen, I will occasionally edit the panel file to reset the levels.  Here are the values I use:

[Engines]
EngineState.0=0
OilQ.0=1999
OffTime.0=2
EGT.0=335
EngineState.1=0
OilQ.1=1999
OffTime.1=2
EGT.1=336

//100% oil quantity = 1999

[HydraulicSystem.0]
Eng Pump Switch A=1
Eng Pump Switch B=1
Elec Pump Switch A=0
Elec Pump Switch B=0
Hyd System Pressure A=51.708375
Hyd System Pressure B=38.663383
Hyd System A Flow Rate=5.700000
Hyd System B Flow Rate=5.700000
Hyd Qty Pct A=100
Hyd Qty Pct B=100
Hyd Qty A=5.7
Hyd Qty B=8.2

//100% hydra quantity A=5.70 B=8.20

//Fuel Temp=9983 : -18C
//Fuel Temp=10000 : 5C
//Fuel Temp=10010 : 14C
// T = 0.8438n - 8432.5
Fuel Temp=10011
//Center Wing Tank FRMN=100.000000 : 100 lbs

In summary, full engine oil is 1999, 100% hydraulic is A=5.7 B=8.2; and since I don't like a near empty tank sitting at the gate for an hour to still have the temperature of the stratosphere I set the fuel temp to 10010 +14C.  Ignore the center tank level, that was just something I was playing with.

Thank you Dan.

I tried looking for the file here X:\Flight Simulator X\PMDG\PMDG 737 NGX\PanelState, but couldn't find it.

Where is it located?

Thank you

As I said in your quote of me, in the saved panel state, saved along with a flight. The panel state files are appended with .fxml.sav
