Polar Air Cargo 747-400F - Redux

Recommended Posts

Maybe some here still remember the Basler BT-67, my Aerosoft - Twin Otter Extended liveries or the things I did to the Majestics Software - Dash-8 Q400 and the PMDG - 737NGX series. So to say I'm back to flight simulation and got my hands onto the PMDG 747v3 and started putting my brush onto this beatiful lady.

Here's a first preview of what I'm currently working on:

Polar Air Cargo - 747-47UF - N498MC

17240602_1354105154612605_33985679068043

There are still some things to do!
Wear and tear needs to be added here and there, new decals, markings,... ("whisper": If anybody here got access to a Polar Air Cargo 747-400F cockpit, I could need some photos). As usual the plane will get a complete exterior and interior makeover (interior only if there are enough references to work with).

I'll put that one on my list, but I can't promise anything.

Progress update:

- main paintwork finished
- reworked my updated bump maps to make the livery look more authentic
- started making her looked used and dirty

Here's a small progress update on my Polar Air Cargo livery
I finished the nose section and added some dirt:

PMDG_747-47UF_PolarAirCargo_N498MC_dirtp

Same applies to the tail/cargo door area. It's mostly ready and dirty (I've put some heavy use on that plane):

PMDG_747-47UF_PolarAirCargo_N498MC_dirtp

Next up:
Belly, Engines & Wings
Cockpit & Interior

There will be for sure a "clean" version, let's say less dirty ;)

Feel free to comment and give some feedback

There is one in the avsim library - David Lee

The one in the library doesn't look like it has the  silver part quite right, more like a white color.

It has been silent for some time, but I've got great news. I finally got the flightdeck photos I waited for!

The belly, wings and engines got their dirt treatment, I'm still not happy with the flaps and the vertical stabilizer...

Texture work is progressing, the exteroir is mostly done, now it's time to tackle and change the interior to match that cargo livery.
Who missed those oldschool Boeing sheepskin seat covers? I definitely did! ;)

I'm searching for some pilots interested in testing this livery and providing some feedback. So if you like to, feel free to contact me! ;)

I'm really sorry, but I totally missed out this topic.

My PMDG 747-400F Polar Air Cargo livery is available for download since Oktober 15th!

You can get it here:

A big thank you to PMDG and the pilots over at Polar Air Cargo for supporting me!

Look forward to downloading this livery. Seems the file isn't available at the moment, hopefully it will be uploaded again soon.

Thanks Daniel. The page still says the files aren't available, but if you log in you get a download link. Installed and it looks great.

You mentioned you would be painting a cleaner version?

Glad it worked out for you!

Globe Cargo Virtual Airlines requested the complete Polar Air Cargo and Atlas Air 747-400 fleet, so there will be more versions. Some cleaner ones, maybe an even dirtier one, let's see what I'll do and when I'll be able to deliver those
