I mean some sceneries coincide the extreme ones, so what's basically different? Thanks The Extreme sceneries had a LOT MORE detail, dynamic scenery etc., and were often more up-to-date. If you just want to add a bit of detail to your countryside the originals are perfectly adequate, especially for the smaller airfields, but if you want to operate in and out of an airfield which has more activity and up-to-date detail the Extreme releases are probably more desirable.
January 29, 20242 yr Hi All, I've just downloaded all eight parts of these ex-payware UK airports/airfields but it was not possible to download the so called "bonus files" because these evidently "no longer existed". Can anyone who has actually been able to download these "bonus files", please give me a hint as to what these (should) contain. Possibly static airport/airfield objects, which are called for by individual airport/airfield ceneries contained in all eight parts or in some of them ? Thanks in advance. Hans

Hans At least some of the bonus files are still available on the Internet Archive Parts1-8 (archive.org)
January 30, 20242 yr chris_eve, Thanks for your kind reaction. However, yesterday I began by unzipping parts 1 and 2 and unless my expectations were far too highly strung, I was very surprised to find that all the airports/airfields in each part were set up in single "cover all" folders, instead of separately so that separate selections/installations would have been possible. A great pity. Hans

A great pity. Hans Yes, that's how they are, but it's easy enough to isolate any particular field from the bgl file names should you wish to. Do bear in mind that these sceneries were designed to be "fill-in" details, not all-encompassing sceneries for the major airfields, for which individual downloads were available, but never, to my knowledge, made freeware. A lot of these sceneries were updates from previous FS2002 (and earlier?) releases and were still designed to be backward compatible with the earlier versions of FS, so they'll never be as sophisticated as the later releases.
