Floating runway XP10

Recommended Posts

Hello guys!
I assume this has something to do with the scenery_packs.ini and me messing with it.

What happens on my XP10 is that the aircraft is under the runway, which seems to be hovering few meters above the "physical" ground. I made two screenshots to show it better, the airport is LIRQ but i found it on other airports so i am pretty sure the issue is in my copy and my addons somewhere

Here follows my scenery_packs.ini in case you can spot something terribly wrong with it. And thank you!

I read up on the author's airport, and judging by the age of the first version, it wouldn't be surprising if this is a conflict with the airport itself.  Not all freeware airports are perfect or compatible with other add-ons, namely meshes.  It's not necessarily an X-Plane issue persay, possibly the issue could be as simple as checking or unchecking sloped runways in the settings.  I have a personal rule of thumb when it comes to the scenery-packs.ini file, I place my global meshes, airports, scenery at the bottom of the list, followed by the libraries and lastly airports (follow the bottom to top flow, as that is how XP loads it's files).  When you start adding various add-ons to XP, they automatically get placed at the top, so you have to frequently check this file to make sure everything is sitting where it needs to or else you get strange results.

"Hovering runways" or any other hovering surfaces, usually are matter of airports converted from FSX. Could you tell where you get the airport so I can check it and find a solution for you?

I don't think i have a custom one from LIRQ? At least i don't see its separate folder in the Custom Scenery one.

What happens if you disable the prefab airports?

Tried it now, nothing changes. I am so confused o_O

It doesn't happen just on LIRQ, it happens on other cities airports too such as Brindisi and Torino Caselle

There was a similiar problem at LHBP that Laminar fixed... so see if this still happens with the next beta?

Cheers, Jan
