FlyTampa Boston

Recommended Posts

Does this work in P3dv3?  I just bought it thinking it does but it looks like it doesn't recognize P3D and only sees FS9 or FSX which I don't have.  Can someone point me in the right direction?

I don't believe that it does.  I know there was talk of Flytampa redoing Boston from the ground up.  Hate to say it, but I don't think the legacy boston works with P3d. Hopefully someone proves me wrong.

I have it working fine.  I just pointed the installer to the right place and manually added it to scenery.cfg.

Would you mind sharing steps on how to do that?

I just installed it in P3D 3.4 today. The trick I used is to make a copy of Prepar3D.exe in the main P3D directory and rename it to FSX.exe. And yes, you have to manually add the scenery list in P3D.

That works but it is easier to create a new text file using the right mouse button click contextual menu, then rename from newfile.txt to fsx.exe.  Now you have a zero size file that does the same thing.

As others mentioned yes you need to create a fake FSX.exe file, then select your p3d folder as the install folder, then manually add the scenery to your scenery.cfg file.  If you haven't done this before, back up your scenery.cfg file, then copy and past the last entry in the file, renumber it one number higher, and replace the airport name, path etc with the information for the boston scenery.
