747 and 777 flies off track

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Been all over the place  (literary) trying to solve this issue

my 777 and 744 is always left of track, doesn't follow the FMS track at all and headings are out by 25deg on 100nm
on my FSTramp I can see myself miles away from where I should be and where I should be going
the moment I get airborne, my AC starts drifting let of track ( see pic )

my 737-600/700/800/900 is 100%
im using win10-64 with P3D V3

AIRAC's and MAG DEC all updated, IRS fully aligned

Where do I start looking

I don't know what I'm looking at.  The ND shows the aircraft abeam a runway that based on the indicated GS/TAS I don't think you just departed from. Help us out here and provide a narrative of how you got to the point shown.

yes,
I just got airborne,
I started on the runway, once airborne, the AC drifts off to the left.
(at about 5 miles, the drift is almost 1 mile)
BUT !
my real position in relation to the RWY etc, was correct

(i was occupied with other issues in order to locate the fault,
so no AT active an AC was speeding)
but as you can judge from the scale, +/- 3 miles from the start of the runway , I was already over a mile to the left

after flying a while, the AC points about 30deg off course, of the magenta line

what additional info/screenshot can I gather to shed more light on the subject ?

p.s. strange, only 747 & 777, D8 & 737 = OK

Hi,

According to the screenshot, you are about 2nm left of the track and 1nm from the DER, on parallel heading.

Can you post screenshots of the PFD and the POS REF page 2/3 & 3/3?

Just gonna toss a horseshoe in here and guess you're using EZDok v2...?

EDIT: Full names - first and last - in the forum, please.

Turn that off. Do not allow anything else to "add in" realism for our products. It's neither required, nor is it recommended, as it can cause issues like this.

removed accufeel
did one takeoff to just short of 1st point - no change

I crammed everything into one screen & took progressive pics
so the FMS + PFD + moving MAP etc are all visible

hopefully this can shed some light on the issue for any of you bofs

pics on mediafire

thanks in advance !

I'm not saying you don't have a problem, but without proper preflight and FMS setup I'm lost.  You don't have V speeds, not using FD or AP and I'm not sure what the "map" tool is that you are using.

Have you flown the tutorial yet? Tutorial is a must.  If you have problems during the tutorial then help will be much easier.

Hi Down,

Thanks for the input, but im sceptical ...

I doubt if its my ability, as I've been flying pmdg 747 from fs9 days, only the 747 & 777 does it in P3D v3, none of the other PMDG A/C has the issue

I omitted a lot for the purpose of this exercise , v speeds etc
even so, flying "manual" gives exactly the same results in terms of AC position and heading
( from takeoff, the AC shows left of actual position)
but as shown, AP is on, LNAV & VNAV is on

fact remains, the AC is shown in a position and direction on the PFD, that is incorrect
( the FMS info in the screen shots, shows gsp positions, and that can be verified with the SHIF-Z info on top of the screen )

the moving map (FSTramp) is on the screen shots as well to show AC real position & orientation

Try it without FSTramp, or any other addon you may have such as EZDoc??  The troubleshooting process includes removing as many external variables as possible.

I can assure you the problem is in your configuration, otherwise there would be many more than one post with this problem.  Let's find what it is about your configuration that is the problem.
