747 and 777 flies off track

Recommended Posts

just did, FSTramp removed, no change

its a brand new installation, bought a new PC so I started from scratch
win10-64, p3d v3, complete ftx/orbx & Active sky 16 (accufeel & FSTramp - now removed )

previously I used FSX-Steam with previous gen 747, worked like a dream

I've seen this before. Search the forums (all the PMDG forums). It's been discussed by others having this issue with older PMDG airplanes but I can't remember what the solution was. Corrupt database, maybe. Not sure.

thanks Walter,

I try again, because I have been looking all over before I posted here,
was told to ask here as this is the "official" PMDG forum

I wish my memory were better. I do remember this happening to me: flying several NM parallel to the magenta line. Whatever was suggested at the time solved it for me. This was so long ago that I believe it could have been on the Queen for FS9. Are you by chance using Navigraph for your nav database updates?

yes, I use navigraph updates
but its been since cycle 1612 ( when i build up the new rig)
every update since then - all have same issue

im now standing at an airport, on the RWY,
RWY HDG is 10deg MAG
I picked a point <300nm away at exactly 10deg mag
entered it into the fms, the magenta line points to 351deg !!

and the track is confirmed by PFPX and (yes) FSTramp ( its back in for now )

Found this:

Have you tried the F1 registry repair tool? I believe this is what fixed it for me all those years ago.

I don't know. When I used it, I would have been on FSX or even FS9. Sorry I couldn't help more.

I'd try deleting the Scenery Index folders and letting them rebuild when you restart P3D. Worth a shot and can't do any harm.

been there, done that

but if it was due to that, surely it would effect "everything"
not just one AC from PMDG ?

somehow its seems to be linked to the MAG variation
in this pic AC pointing 190, the waypoint selected is at 190deg
but the HDG bug shows 173deg, very close to the MAG VAR at that point. I tested at different airports, always closely link up with the variation

Jan, some guys have reported problems with track and seems that ASUS mobos had some kind of problem with the UEFI/BIOS clock and the PMDG programming...Look for this problem in the forum,..

Just an idea.

Best.

This is the official USER forum for PMDG.  You get support directly from PMDG only via trouble ticket at PMDG Product Support.  At some point you may want to do that.

The Flight1 registry tool solved a similar problem with FS9/FSX but not P3D.  We still haven't isolated what in your configuration is causing this and you don't seem to believe the problem is there...maybe it is time for the trouble ticket.
