Best mesh for P3D V3.x

Recommended Posts

What is the highest resolution mesh possible in P3D V3.x, and who is the developer of choice for it?  And does the highest resolution mesh have much impact on performance?  Strikes me that me that mesh ought not to have big performance hit, and yet is seems like much higher resolution could add of a to visuals.

Thanks

Highest resolution mesh is Pilots Global Evo I believe, but I also use freemeshX.  It doesn't update the USA but covers the rest of the globe in LOD10 I believe.

I have FS Global Ultimate Next Generation and I can truly recommend it. I don't know how they do it, but the subtle differences in height make a great added immersion factor.

Well worth the money!

How much if any perceptible performance hit w/ these?  Looks like there are some good products to choose from thanks!

Important question on this:  how does FSG Ultimate Next play w/ FTX Regional sceneries, and what potential is there for corrupting airport textures as far as elevations go?  Also, I just saw this is packaged 80GB in DVD sets.  I'm really interested in Europe and North America--is it possible to just get those, or if not, just install those?  That's way too much SSD space to steal for areas I'm not flying in.

I've been using FS Global Ultimate NG for several months and have not seen any problems with any Orbx region or airport, or any airport for that matter.  In the event you do have an elevation problem not associated with Orbx Vector, they offer a free airport elevation tool that provides a sloping transition between flat airports and surrounding terrain.  I haven't gotten around to playing with it yet but places like KLAS should benefit from it.

Agree with comments above, where in the central plains of the US/Canada you can see much more of the natural undulations of the terrain and it's not so artificially flat as default and many meshes make it appear.

Questions about regions vs global should be resolved by visiting their website... this is a P3D forum, not a Pilot's product forum.
