Too soon?

Today I filed a flight plan from Oakland KOAK to Burbank KBUR:

CNDEL3 CISKO RDHOT ROKKR1

The flight was perfect and P2A was awesome but something seemed a  bit off. After takeoff I was transfered to departure and departure immediately told me to expect the destination START and APPROACH I filed.

I appreciated the advanced notice but I was wondering if that would happen in real life, I wasn't even at 10,000 yet.
