Level-D 767 and Windows 10 (Fix Released)

Greetings folks,

Just in case you're interested in this venerable add-on, Level-D has finally uncovered the root cause of the LDS-767's compatibility issues with Windows 10 and they released a fix last week to clear these problems.

For those of you with Windows 10 and FSX, this new fix should resolve the issues you may have encountered with the product such as CTD's and disruptive stuttering. It is getting thumbs up from the users on their forums which is certainly an encouraging sign.

(Note on Prepar3D)

As we know, the LDS767 is not officially supported for use under Prepar3D. Some users were successful in getting the LDS767 working under P3D with some limitations, but even still the aircraft encountered the same issues under Win10 that FSX users had. It has been reported that the new fix will also assist users who are attempting to use the LDS767 in P3D on Win10. There are instructions on the Level-D forums which may assist you if you're looking to use the LDS767 on P3D but as always there are caveats and making the attempt is not supported by the developers.

Thank you so much for the information Greg! I just reinstall this baby in my P3DV3 and now it works like a charm without any stutter! I guess LevelD will make a lot of fans happy. Thank you so much LevelD for updating the 767 to Win10

This update does not address anything specifically related to Prepar3D on either OS. This only removes the impediments that Win10 put up, so it puts Windows 10 users on the same playing field as Windows 7 users regardless of which platform they are on.

As Patrick just did above, one needs to get the 767 installed properly in P3D (via the EMT or manual methods), copy in a particular directory from a legit FSX installation (the UIRES dir) to support the Level-D menus, and understand some additional limitations. The method is detailed on the Level-D forums for those interested. Ultimately, it's a pretty stable installation once complete.
