XPlane can get incredibly real at night (IMO).  I just need to learn to work with the files.

I think there's no denying that X-Plane, out of the box, has stunning nighttime visuals. That twilight shot looks very realistic. :)

I've seen nights like this, and not necessarily from an aircraft.  When the sunlight just hovers above the horizon, letting you know the night is coming and the twinkling of the city lights enhances that feeling of a long day is over.  From above, you get that feeling of putting the world to bed.

Having messed around the FSX/P3D sky textures, these look far more daunting. Post the results when you get a bit further - looking good so far :)

Thanks, Novation.  I've worked with FSX and P3D files for quite a while but XPlane's format is different.  Right now Im trying to rework my greyscales that I made for FSX/P3D but some of my favorites just wont work in XPlane so Im starting over pretty much.  The lighting is totally new to me as well.  It will take time.  The postsun in the shot is actually from a sunset I made for P3D1.4.
