VNAV Capture after step climbs

Recommended Posts

Guest

Hey guys

I'm having trouble getting back on VNAV for descent after I've added in a step climb along the flight and flight changed up to the new level. I know I'm missing something obvious but can't find the answer in the tutorials using step climb as a search.

My T\D marker has gone and I can't remember how to add the new cruise level to the VNAV path so it recalculates your T\D marker and descends automatically as per normal (with the MCP altitude reconfigured prior to pause at T/D etc.)

Appreciate a reminder on how to do it!

Thanks

the altitude selector knob...click the middle of it, that will update whatever altitude is dialed to the current cruise altitude..i think that's what you're looking for anyway.. you can verify it worked by looking on the vnav crz page in the fmc..

You could also manually enter the new cruise altitude on VNAV page 2.  But when we do a step climb we normally set the altitude in the MCP verify then press the selector once.  Then you can either let the computer do its programmed climb or switch to a different mode quick before the power comes in to rapidly.
