xp11 is amazing - Looks almost like the real thing!

Recommended Posts

Hawthorn left downwind (right next to klax)

Addons: xEnviro, US West and prefab airports. So besides xenviro, this is what xplane looks with just freeware addons!

I would say prd3 even with OrbX Norcal doesnt even come close to this level of visual fidelity

I love XP11. It is totally fantastic graphic wise. No trouble with VAS it is very great indeed!

The only thing that bothers me is the fact that somehow the kind of professional addons FSX has XP-11 does not have, besides the ones that are already on the market; 737 classic, 757, 767, 777, A320, A330, MD-80...

For instant. I hope some gaps will be filled in the future:

A nice payware 737 NGX 6/7/8/9 perhaps even MAX with Scimitars instead of Winglets.

A nice 747-400 payware like the queen...

And many more!

I hope developers like PMDG/Aerosoft/Qwings/FSLabs will eventually focus on this platform. As it has very much potential and has many things FSX does not have!!

For now I use FSX still as a main platform. But XP-11 is 2nd for me for sure!!!

But also not to forget REX and ActiveSky for XP-11. That would be superb!!!

I do not know what P3D V4 is all about, if it will be 64-bit, and even still have the question whether it is a rumour or not that LM is making a V4...

For now, we live here and now and this is what we've got. All in all I am content.

Happy takeoffs and landings to you all!

I would rather see default screenshots, then decide how good it looks, not how good it can look with addons.

@jymp - You're more than welcome to try out the demo and judge for youself.

To be frank, I don't understand why FSX/Prepar3D always has to be judged and compared with addons, but when someone shows off X-Plane with addons, it's somehow wrong and unfair...

OP: Very nice shot!

Very nice screenshot Thomas!

I agree its very real looking except for one fact....the 105 running parallel to it should have bumper-to-bumper traffic on it to complete the feel or realism. hehe.

And in the distance there should be 2 airliners on parallel approaches to 24 and 25 at KLAX (I'm on the 105 frequently and that is what always stands out in this area)

And finally, there always seems to be a PC-12 in the pattern with you at this airport (Probably Advanced Air's charters)

Keep the great screens coming!

Well, you can always go back to FSX/P3D and run default scenery. That will impress you for sure!

Excellent capture Thomas!  I agree, P3d does not compare visually to X-plane 11.

Yep, a major limitation and immersion killer of XP right now.

P3D is my main sim of choice but X11 does have better stock scenery and airports. One thing about X11 that draws me back time and time again is the lighting. In P3D your lights do not really shine on anything.

Go to any larger P3D airport and when in the gate the overhead building lights are on but your plane's exterior is almost black having no light shed on it. Now go to that same situation in X11 and the building lights (and all lights) actually shed light on nearby objects like your plane.

I sometimes go into X11 and set up and evening or night situation where my airliner is at the gate in a large airport and just sit and watch as the lights from the moving service vehicles light up the plane and other objects they approach. Best light show in any sim!

P3D claims a new lighting system is in the works and I hope it turns out to be just like the one in X11.
